Food Distribution during Lockdown
COVID-19 poses an extraordinary challenge for India – both for infectious disease control and for maintaining food security and livelihoods. The pandemic induced lockdowns had a profound impact on livelihoods, affecting poor Indians’ food intake, study show. Food is something that provides nutrients. Nutrients are substances that provide: energy for activity, growth, and all functions of the body such as breathing, digesting food, and keeping warm; materials for the growth and repair of the body, and for keeping the immune system healthy which is very important to fight against the COVID – 19.
To provide people with this basic necessity the ‘Food Distribution Programme’ amidst the Lockdown period was arranged to meet people with this basic need. Our small effort was able to provide food to a small section of people thus delivering smiles and happiness.
